Laser Hair Removal for Dark Skin

The laser we use for darker skin is the Fotona Nd.Yag 1064nm. The skin penetration of this laser’s wavelength is deeper compared to other lasers and the effect on melanin is minimal. This ensures much better results on darker skins.

The Nd Yag long pulse laser can be used safely on all skin types, including Asian and black skins.
This laser has the ability to deliver two different wave lengths of light. One is an invisible infrared light used for deeper penetration. Long pulses of 1064-nm Nd:Yag laser light are absorbed well enough to cause hair follicular damage but not well enough by epidermal melanin to significantly alter skin pigment.

Fast repetition rates and large coverage areas allow large areas of the body to be treated quickly. The results are fantastic and the procedure is virtually painless. For those patients with ingrown facial or body hairs, laser can be a life changing experience.
