How it works

Hyaluronic Acid is a substance that naturally occurs in the skin and helps to add hydration and volume. Juvederm Ultra® uses it in a smooth gel form which flows easily into the skin, instantly filling out those troublesome lines.

What can I expect?

Juvederm Ultra® is injected into the skin through a fine 30G needle making it a virtually painless procedure with a reduced risk of bruising. Most importantly, Juvederm Ultra® contains 0.3% LIDOCAINE anaesthetic which makes it more comfortable than ever before.

In order to reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site we recommend that you avoid any medications which can prolong bleeding, such as aspirin and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) for at least 3-4 days prior to treatment.

You may experience some temporary injection related reactions, such as redness, pain, firmness, swelling and bumps, but studies show that they are usually mild and resolve themselves within a few days.

To help minimise the risks of temporary redness, swelling and/or itching you should avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun or heat exposure and consumption of alcohol for the first 24 hours following treatment. If you do experience any swelling at the injection site, briefly applying an ice pack will help soothe it.

Looking for Pain Free Lip Enhancement? Royal Tunbridge Wells Skin & Laser Clinic can now offer the option of dental blocks for pain free dermal filler lip treatments. The dental block is a safe local anaesthetic which is applied prior to receiving a dermal filler lip treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

You’ll notice an immediate improvement after just one treatment! The majority of patients need just one treatment to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing, which smooths lines and wrinkles for up to nine months, in some cases a year!

However, results may vary from patient to patient and correction is temporary. To achieve and maintain optimal results ‘touch up’ treatments may be required.
