How can I prepare for the laser treatment?

To prepare for a laser treatment for fungal nail infection it is usually advisable to first have a full medical pedicure or see a Chiropodist. Reduction in the thickness of the infected nail will then allow the laser light to penetrate as deep as possible to completely kill the infection. A medical pedicure can also be carried out if you have unwanted dry skin, thick toenails, corns or calluses. Your nails will immediately show a marked improvement.

How long will it take to see results?

After a series of treatments, a new healthy nail will push the diseased portion out, which can then be cut or scraped away. Following the procedure it is vital that you maintain a high level of hygiene and discard any socks that may have been infected.

What can I expect from my Fungal Nail treatment?

If the nail bed is healthy the nail plate should grow out in six months to a year, with healthy new growth visible within three months. Individual clients may need between 4-6  laser treatments to ensure that each part of the growing nail has been treated. The number of procedures can vary depending on the depth of the infection into the nail bed and for how long it has been there.
