Rosacea
Both common and chronic, Rosacea is a skin inflammation with symptoms including:
• Facial redness (erythema)
• Spidery blood vessels (telangiectasia)
• Facial swelling (hyperplasia)
• Rosacea papules (red solid elevated inflammatory skin lesion without pus)
While the exact cause is unknown, several triggers have been identified that may make the symptoms worse in some people, including exposure to sunlight, stress, cold or hot weather, wind, hot drinks, alcohol, and hot and spicy food.
How is it treated?
There is no cure for Rosacea, but a range of treatments available at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Skin & Laser Clinic can help to control the symptoms effectively and efficiently with no down time or pain.
The redness and flushing, probably the most prominent and common symptom, can be minimised with Lasers and IPL, but your personal treatment plan will depend on the severity of the condition and could require several different treatments.
What can I expect from the treatment?
The first step to creating your bespoke treatment plan is a consultation with one of our advanced practitioners. It may include prescription medication, IPL either alone or in combination with Nd: YAG laser and LED light treatment to help heal the skin. You will be advised to use skin care products with anti-inflammatory ingredients.
