Skin Tag Removal
What is a Skin Tag?
A skin tag is a small piece of benign skin tissue that protrudes from the surface of the skin.
They are generally harmless, but some people can develop a large number of these growths all over their body, which can be both unsightly and embarrassing and therefore lead to stress and anxiety. Even though there is no harm in leaving skin tags in place, their removal can give a huge confidence boost.
Laser Skin Tag removal – what is the process?
Here at the Royal Tunbridge Wells Skin & Laser Clinic we offer a simple medical procedure that leaves the skin smooth and clear of skin tags. Our computer-operated Erbium YSGG laser beam is targeted at the area to be treated and evaporates the unwanted tissue in very precise and thin layers.
What can I expect from the treatment?
Immediately after the laser treatment, a small, attrition-like wound appears in the treated area. Within a day a small scab will form, and the superficial wound to the skin takes 7-10 days to heal.
What treatment do I need after my Skin Tag has been removed? Most healing wounds simply need to be kept clean by daily washing with cool water. Your doctor will ask you to use an anti-bacterial ointment for three to five days.
The treated area will be sensitive to the sun for some months and you should use a sunscreen of SPF 30 every day following the procedure to ensure hyper or hypo pigmentation does not appear.
