Laser Treatment for Stretch Marks
Anyone who has experienced rapid weight gain (particularly during pregnancy) or rapid weight loss will be familiar with this common skin condition which occurs when skin is stretched too quickly and is torn.
They are normally found around the stomach area, breasts, thighs and hips. They can fade over time, but if you are still unhappy with them we offer an effective reduction of stretch marks with Fractional Er. Yag and Long Pulse Nd. Yag.
How it works
The laser makes small injuries the diameter of a hair shaft in the skin leaving normal, untreated skin in between. The untreated skin helps heal the wound quite quickly, replacing the area with new healthy skin.
What can I expect?
Most patients find this treatment slightly uncomfortable but tolerable.
How many treatments will I need?
Results can be seen after a single session however, the most significant improvement is typically after three to five treatments.
As your treatment progresses you will notice the colour of the stretch mark and scar diminish, also the texture of the skin will show dramatic improvement leaving the area softer and smoother.
Early stretch marks are usually red in colour and respond extremely well to treatment. Mature stretch marks are typically white in colour but usually will show at least a 50% post treatment improvement.
